When I got started on YouTube in 2019, I was recording and publishing without much of a plan. I enjoyed the process without expecting anything in return. Frankly this mindset made things much easier for me and for other creators.  

With a background in digital marketing and project management, I slowly learned the YouTuber business through trials and errors, watching big YouTubers, as well as everyday creators. I didn’t just watch the videos but I also took notes, created and tested the systems, organized everything I’ve learned into templates to share with you so you don’t have to create them from scratch. 

By March 2020 (only 6 months after my YouTube journey), my channel was monetized and generating between $1,000-$2,500 each month. 

Brands and sponsors quickly appeared in my inbox asking for partnerships and collaborations on paid videos (which by the way, is more lucrative and stable compared to YouTube ads income). I was quite surprised to see the volume of interest in such a short period of time, and it continued from there. 

The secret to success on YouTube isn’t about following “the plan”. Every business journey is different. You have to embrace your strengths and sometimes your weaknesses, too. 

But there are shortcuts and systems that can get you there faster, and even help you enjoy the process more as a content creator or as a business.
